Two Marking Approaches
Product coding and traceability can be achieved through laser marking or inkjet printing. Each has distinct strengths.
Laser Marking
Laser marking creates permanent, high-contrast marks by altering the material surface. It requires no consumables, has virtually no running cost and produces smudge-proof results ideal for metals and engineered plastics.
Inkjet Printing
Inkjet printing applies ink onto the surface. It is flexible for variable data and a wide range of materials, but requires ongoing ink and solvent costs and marks may wear off over time.
How to Choose
Choose laser marking for permanence, precision and low running cost on metal and plastic parts. Choose inkjet for highly variable, high-speed coding on packaging where mark permanence is less critical.
